Seven Is a perfect example of a thriller. It shows good codes and conventions. In the opening scene of seven there is a lot to say about how it is a thriller.
In the opening scene of seven the sound is very odd, a mystery type of sound.
We see a book with a picture of two hands with a lot of pages and a lot of writing. We don’t know who is writing all of this and why he has a picture of two hands in his book keeping the audience guessing to why he has done this. The opening credits of seven relate to the film because the font is small simple and basic not to flashy or to big. We also see him cutting out photo’s, we don’t know what these photo’s are of again keeping the audience guessing as to what these pictures are. This is a great opening sequence of a thriller showing a lot of codes and conventions.
